As fare as i know it's decided in the code depending from ini/hal

Have you studied the .ini files described here. The use different planes.

I have studied that section of the manual but I can't seem to locate the exaple ini files referenced.
Do you know where the files are located?
I tried a simple search function in the Stretch File manager to no avail.

Thats the distribution of linux.
Are you using 2.7, 2.8 or master version of linuxcnc?
Pushed the fix to 2.8 and master.
