So when motors run backwards, its because L1 and L2 are around the wrong way?
And L3 is just another active line?

You can swap any two phases.

Direction for a single phase motor is controlled by the capacitor connection to the motor,s start run winding,s .
Three phase motor direction, is controlled by how the phases are connected .
eg L1 -L2-L3 =cw then L1-L3-L2 - ccw

Yeh sounds right. If you don't want single phase power, there is not really any reason to run the neutral.
In the switch board, they try to balance your single phase circuits across the three phases.
There isn't any standard for wiring of the phases apparently where a motor is involved, you may need to swap any two phases to go the right way. But if its say a welder that only uses DC motors its not an issue.. Worked for my welder.

Turns out that with three phase the different power point styles are related to the amperage draw of the machines that will be used.
The style of power point that the guys installed was to suit up to 20amps. The plug I put on the compressor was a 32amp plug. Just need to change the plug over.

When i watch you discussing a power plug for 3 days, i feel sorry for you !
In Europe, you can spot what plug it is from a mile away, the only similar ones are industrial plugs for 16A and 32A and even they can be differentiated from very far by the size of it.
Done gloating, off to work, building a work shop about 108 sq meters with a friend helping, building two more plasma cutters same as last two i did, building the one for square tubing and while collecting parts for it found out i can do another one for round tube ...... oh hell !

That reminds me, remember those bloody keychains that would beep when you whistle at them ?
Get some of those and set different types of beeps for different plugs, otherwise i foresee a lot of failed attempts at plugging ....
All jokes aside, the industrial ones here all look the same ( the colour can be different ) but the size difference is much more noticeable.

The 20A dont have the pin like the 32A?
If not how you dont mistake when insert it?
In Japan follow this layout

On the bottom of the round circular housing that plugs into the socket, there is different locators. On the right 32amp is a slot, on the left 20amp is a flat bottom. They cannot go into the wrong power point socket.
