For PhillC regarding PlasmaC and Z axis stuff
I can have a look at that extra parameter that we discussed before. You would just need to add an allowance for the extra motion up.tommylight wrote: I am using a different float setup on new machines, so the float has to travel 7mm to trip the switch + 2mm of overrun, them move up the full length plus pierce height, so that makes 12mm of retract travel on every probe.

I wonder what happens in HAL when you do a M30 or M2?phillc54 wrote: I have often thought about this as well. Unfortunately PlasmaC doesn't know about jobs, only cuts.
In fact, I wonder if you could sense the end of a job by looking for a change in motion.motion-type from non zero to zero?
It really is a pain in the wet arse!

Tommy, can you add a set screw adjuster to take up the slack? best thing I ever did by allowing me to adjust out the switch hysteresis.

Yes i can, but i was more for the cut screws thing since they do use about 6 or so mm of travel !rodw wrote: Tommy, can you add a set screw adjuster to take up the slack? best thing I ever did by allowing me to adjust out the switch hysteresis.
