BTW, I'm trying to configure Qt Designer HAL plugins but it throws:

Code:
libEGL warning: DRI2: failed to authenticate qt5ct: using qt5ct plugin qt5ct: D-Bus global menu: no Traceback (most recent call last): File "/home/pi/.designer/plugins/python/qtvcp_plugin.py", line 22, in <module> from qtvcp.plugins.simplewidgets_plugin import * File "/home/pi/linuxcnc/lib/python/qtvcp/plugins/simplewidgets_plugin.py", line 5, in <module> from qtvcp.widgets.simple_widgets import PushButton File "/home/pi/linuxcnc/lib/python/qtvcp/widgets/simple_widgets.py", line 17, in <module> from qtvcp.widgets.widget_baseclass import _HalWidgetBase, _HalToggleBase, _HalSensitiveBase File "/home/pi/linuxcnc/lib/python/qtvcp/widgets/widget_baseclass.py", line 19, in <module> import hal File "/home/pi/linuxcnc/lib/python/hal.py", line 30, in <module> import _hal ImportError: /home/pi/linuxcnc/lib/python/_hal.so: undefined symbol: _Py_ZeroStruct qt5ct: D-Bus system tray: no libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile

I try all libpyqt5_py2.so versions (qt5.5, qt5.7 & qt5.9), Qt Designer starts but fails to load HAL widgets.
Could it be an issue between python2 & python3 libraries?
I am using an RPi3 Raspbian Buster. With Raspbian Stretch HAL widgets loads fine.

It is not one of my best weeks, I think :S

You may need to compile the libpyqt5_py2. Those versions were compiled with X86_64.
what version of qt is on rasberrypi buster?

The undefined error doesn't look to be qt related though _hal.s0 is the python library module to linuxcnc's HAL interface. Does any of the other screens run?

Chris,
I ran up my Pi4 for a test run, it runs raspberry buster:
Code:
Linux pi4-1 4.19.71-rt24-v7l+ #1 SMP PREEMPT RT Tue Mar 17 18:23:13 AEDT 2020 armv7l GNU/Linux
Qt is version 5.11 and _hal.s0 would need to be compiled for armhf

There looks to be some issue with Qt and OpenGL, I get these errors on starting up QtAxis and Blender although they do load after OKing the error messages:
Warning: Spoiler!

There is no display in the Preview tab.

Manually resizing the screen causes a segmentation fault:
Warning: Spoiler!

Designer does load although of course there are no QTvcp widgets.

If you need any further testing let me know.

Opengl issues - linuxcnc uses very old legacy opengl routines.

I'm not an opengl guy....
but hey does AXIS display show?

Yep, AXIS displays normally and GladCVP panels show OK as well.

Qt 5.11.3
I'm not totally sure but in my previous installation (Stretch) Qt Designer HAL widgets loaded fine.
Sorry, but I was doing lots of tests so I decide to use Buster on my RPi3 just to keep all things paired with my RPi4.
I also chose Buster because of Qt packages already available for it.

I see reports that Qt on Buster is compiled for OpenGL ES and not OpenGL Desktop. Maybe that causes the issue.

Hi Phillc54! Thanks for joining!

So, what do you suggest I do/try?
