Parallel Port Tester

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately it did not help. The address in the Hal file is in fact the same as the port (onboard parallel port)
Is there anything that I need to do or set up BEFORE I run the test?

Are you running this on a computer with LinuxCNC installed via the LiveCD?

It should just work...

Are both files in the same directory?

Did you open the files with a windoze editor that might have tacked on some funny stuff to the end of each line?

Here's the corrected X-mode ptest files. I fell pray to windows scrambling the xml file when I posted from my windows machine.

Yes it was installed from a Live CD 8.04 -
Yes both files in the same directory
Downloaded directly to the Linux box and used "text editor" to verify the port address.
