Help with touch off tool setter was created by Dimitrios2
Hello,
I'm new and I'm trying to use the touch off routine without success so far. I followed those steps below.
1. Home my machine
2. Unload Spindle - tool zero
3. Touching off spindle manually to tool setter
4. Input value in Spindle Zero box
5. Retract Z up to zero
6. Setting Tool Touchoff position (XY tool setter position Z 0)
7. Load a tool
8. Touchoff tool
The machine is starting the process but, when it touches the tool setter stops and I'm getting the following error.
"Probe is already tripped when starting G38.2 or G38.3 move"
What am I missing here?
I'm using linuxcnc 2.8.4
Thanks for your help.

It sounds like the tool setter input needs inverse signal in hal maybe?

Ok, by using the Hal Meter my tool setter is FALSE as is and TRUE when it's pressed.
This is the line that I've added to me Hal file.
"net probe parport.0.pin-11-in => motion.probe-input"
How can I invert the signal to tested it out? I've tried net probe parport.0.pin-11-in-not, didn't worked. The signal is actually inverted in hal meter but, I'm pressing the tool setter by hand and I'm not getting any response.
Or maybe this is the way supposed to be?

I don't think that is the pin. I if inverse the signal it triggers when it's relished and not when it's pressed.

It looks like my tool setter is sending two signals, one when it's pressed and one when it's released. If I set the slow probe to 0 and then back to any value I'm getting a different error and not every time. I think a pull-up resistor will solve my problem.

Finally, in case that somebody else has tried everything and nothing is working, the retract distance was too low and the tool's setter switch was not released before the G53 G0 Z0 of the tool touch off routine.

I still have the same problem but, only with the second slow probing sequence. I guess is my switch, I can't find a sweat spot to make both happy. Although the fast is working well enough so, I will leave it as is for now and I will come back later if I have to.
Thanks once again!
