Hi automata, hi NWE,

thanks a lot for trying it out and for reporting this and sorry for the trouble. You're right: the download section and the manual link on cnc.gmbh are currently broken. The site was just migrated to a new system and the file links didn't make it over correctly.

I'm fixing it right now and will post here as soon as the .deb packages, the source code and the manual are downloadable. Your registration stays valid, so no need to sign up again.

Thanks for your patience and looking forward to your feedback once you have it running!

Daniel

I see an email half way down the front page yurtaev.com/ with instructions to contact that email for purchasing cards.

The source code isn't publicly available, so I'm afraid I can't share it.

What association does your software development have with open source LinuxCNC forum? Free advertising?

I can't find a link on your website to the CNC controller software.
The FahriWorks CAD and the CNC Monitoring System are cloud based services? I disassembled the CNC Monitoring System file I downloaded from fahriworks.com, I see it would send all CNC telemetry to api.fahriworks.com then I have to log in to your server with a pin to view my machine data.

Thanks for checking it out!

The source code isn't publicly available, so I'm afraid I can't share it. The page isn't actually a login screen; the frontend is built with React, and the backend is written in C/C++.

However, I'd be happy to explain how it works or help in any other way if you're interested.

Thanks again for your interest!

You're absolutely right, trajectory planning is a challenging task.

Our journey started about 20 years ago with milling and EDM machines. Back then, we were developing our software in C/C++ on DOS 6.22. I still remember spending days debugging our milling and EDM applications.

You can take a look at some of our old DOS applications here:
doscapture.fahriworks.com/

Later, we moved on to plasma cutting machines, and now I'm working on a laser cutting machine using Linux, Xenomai, and EtherCAT.

Your points about reliability and keeping the GUI separate from real-time motion control are very valuable. Thank you for sharing your experience and advice!

The project is still under development. The CNC software I have worked with is proprietary, so I cannot share its source code.

My current project is a separate development using Linux, Xenomai for real-time capabilities, and EtherCAT for motion control. I'm still working on the architecture and exploring the HMI approach.

Seems to be gated behind account login. Is the source code available?

I registered on the site for trying the community edition.
But could not download the deb or the src to be able to try anything.
Even the link to the manual gives a 404 error.
I would appreciate a heads-up on this thread once you get a chance to get the site working.
Thanks,
-automata

Trajectory planner is not an easy task, so i would stick with LinuxCNC for that (as do most companies using it) and do your HMI/GUI for it.
C/C++ is fine, React i have no clue (is that a version of Java script?), but whatever you end up using, make sure that if it crashes, it does not take the trajectory planner and real time stuff with it.

For me reliability is paramount, so i stick with Axis GUI mostly, i distinctly recall some 10 years back messing with Linux deleting stuff while the machine was working, i broke something, screen went black, keyboard was not doing anything, but the machine went on to finish the part over two hours after blacking out!
Having industrial machines With LinuxCNC running 24/7 for nearly 15 years without ever having any issues is something big companies can not do, of course as most of those still use windoze! :)

Since you asked me to show my work, I'm developing my own CNC controller using C, Ubuntu Linux with real-time capabilities, and EtherCAT.You can find more about my software development work at https://www.fahriworks.com.I'll share more technical details about the CNC project as development progresses.Wishing everyone the best with their projects!

Thanks for your suggestions! I'll look into your recommendations.(FlexGUI and QtPyVCP.)

However, I'm developing my own CNC controller from scratch rather than using LinuxCNC. The real-time control core is written in C, and I'm integrating EtherCAT for servo communication.

I'm mainly trying to decide on the best HMI architecture for my own system: a native C/C++ GUI or a modern React-based web interface communicating with the C control core through a separate backend.

I'd be interested in your thoughts on this architecture, particularly regarding reliability, real-time performance, and communication between the HMI and the control core.
