hi,
with Pulse and direction top speed and precision calculus are clear  but

But how to calculate the bandwidth on a Ethercat servo drive and precision?
let say leadscrew pitch 0.100inch encoder servo 10000 ppr?
if bus cycle time is 1000000 and refClockSyncCycles=1
how to determine the top speed IPM and minimal resolution in  Inches (minimal cut).

today.... get some stuff working...

i managed to eliminate the coupling of axis a to b axis a to c and axis b to c.

then i get it work to home on my edding marks with index signals from the encoders.

i think i am near to a working world mode?! but Z axis doesnt look ok... i upload some videos....

joint mode for handling stuff works perfect... but my world mode.. doesnt work correct... possible someone know the issue of my z axis? i double check all length and offsets for the DH parameters.... the angles are still the same (alpha).

right hand rule.. thumb as Z up.. i must doo the stuff i think... i will make some stuff from cradboard.. after this weekend..headache..

here some youtube shorts

possible i am on the wrong way with my DH parameters and rotations of each axis.. thats why i make a tool from cardboard to identify the issue

thanks

Don't worry. In a real machine feed and acceleration are limited by mechanical parameters.
Whereas increase microstepping decreases effects. In other words there is big different for 1/2 and 1/4 and small different for 1/128 and 1/256...

The maximum step rate will be limited by the step length and step space parameters.
In a working system, these parameters in turn are limited by the drives minimum timing values.

If the clone cards uses that same clock scheme as Mesa cards ( Stepgen base clock= 100 MHz ),
step rates to 10 MHz are possible.

Hi
test (open loop) non differential output, max step frequency output, perhaps the noise is coming from my testing probes, picture at 3Mhz this output frequency is way beyond my actual needs. and interesting to know what are the step output card band width

and At 5Mhz this is only for testing proposes my servos bandwidth are way below this output

7I96 zusammenarbeiten.
"“linuxcnc-uspace” will also run on a standard Linux kernel for use as a simulator, but it should not be used to control hardware."

Hans

I found the solution for fanuc style tool numbers.
No changes to Becksvill's code, this will work anywhere.
1. Create settool.ngc file 2. Add to your ini file in [RS274NGC] section Now, for example, tool 1 will be loaded even if there is T0101 in g-code and tool 101 is not present in tool table.

if you want to install this i have made it as simple as i know how to.
step 1 if on a brand new install from the ISO then open the linuxcnc config picker first and open any sim.  that will make folders for linuxcnc and configs etc
step 2 copy and past this file into the normal configs directory.  and unzip or unzip before copying

open the linuxcnc config picker again and open this config.  click desktop shortcut.

For me this not works. LinuxCNC starts, but you can't homing or do any moving (following error).
In my opinion, the better way is you collect only necessary files and say what we have to change in standard sim ini.

I did some test with config copied from sample-configs/sim/gmoccapy/lathe_configs.
This is gmoccapy and I recommend for you.
The 6,5 font size is not readable for me. I suspect this is from lack of space in Axis.
In gmoccapy you can safely use 12 font size.
There is one problem to solve - "generate & load" button works partially, generate, save, but not load. Manually loaded lathe_profile.ngc works as expected. Maybe rename button to "generate" only?

For me fanuc style Tnnnn is a problem. I never used this, don't want this, and tried to remove this "advantage", but no luck.
How to change sources for use standard Tnn tools?

I tested only "OD turning", seems this is good idea and good software, and worth to test the rest.

I don't ask you for all possibilities, but only for share configs you used for your tests.

after some test I found the maximal output step frequency that I can get is around 100kHz, , beyond this frequency I start getting following error message, no matter what value on following error is placed at .ini
Do you know if is possible to increase this frequency?

Check max acceleration in your ini.
Low acceleration with high speed increase ferror.

Sorry, but I can’t exactly create a sample for each of the 100,000 possibilities.
But it’s not difficult to create a configuration from scratch.
