DIY VMC was created by hadcom
Hi guys,

i'm a young mechanical engineer from Saarland Germany, i thought i create a little bit more content and share with you my almost finished Diy VMC.Here is a quick video about the build using Qtpyvcp and by the way i want to thank the programmer of QTPYVCP Gui,

i made the Milling machine out of UHPC, the build has almost 500mm Z-axis travel, 600mm X-axis travel and 400mm Y-axis travel. I did not calculate the total mass of the build but it weight's about 500 - 600Kg.
I am actually searching for ideas what to make with my new toy?
Thanks for liking the video =)

Very Nice!

I have been thinking of doing the same. But on a much larger scale using epoxy for the frame.

Yes, if i would rebuild one, i would doing it way bigger, my limitation was the door that it has to pass trough once i have to move it out of this room, so for the money that i invested in this build i could have made a twice as big for 1k euro more...

Very Nice!

I have been thinking of doing the same. But on a much larger scale using epoxy for the frame.

I gave up on epoxy when i found out metal is 3 times heavier ( and more expensive ), but it is very hard to find heavy metal here. I did find round ones at Fi 120mm, but it takes ages on the mill to get them to something usable, and a lot is waisted.
I had 2 pieces of 150X60mm, sent them to be drilled and tapped so they can be attached as L shape, they made a mess with the holes so it was crooked by over 2mm, left it there. F@#$$$##@$%#. Those were nice.

Just curious, how much did your machine cost to build with the UHPC?
