Hi all,
I recently completed a DIY CNC build based on the PrintNC design:
The main reason i wanted to post here was a video explainer I made about my current understanding of LinuxCNC (real-time kernel, HAL, PNCconf & md2hal):
Setup: Mesa 7i96s , LinuxCNC 2.9.8, DM860 stepper drivers,Optidrive E3 VFD controlled over Modbus (mb2hal), MPG pendant, touch probe and a custom front button panel.
My config files are on GitHub if they're useful to anyone:
Hopefully it's useful for anyone starting out or interested in some of the theory behind LinuxCNC, I'm happy to answer any questions about the build.
(The explainer includes a short sponsor segment.)
Cheers!
