Mesa 7i96s firmware for Index (2.9 release) was created by vibram
Hello,
I'm looking for firmware for Mesa 7i96s with Index pin (release 2.9)
I followed Talla83 tutorial on Efinity but I have no clue how to implement the Index stuff.
Thanks a lot for your support

All normal 7I96S firmware supports index on the encoder.
Did you mean stepgen index support?

If you want just one stepgen/encoder index on the 7I96s's built in encoder
interface, use 7i96s_esdi1.bin. If you need more, it depends on where
you want the index pins to connect. The 7i96sd_esdid.bin firmware
puts 3 stepgen index pins on the 7I96S encoder A,B,IDX inputs
(losing the encoder)

I absolutely need the encoder. However I only have 2 motors so is it possible to use the other axis step/dir instead? So pin tb1 14 and following?
Thank you

Step/dir pins are output only
So you need the spindle encoder and 2 step/dir indexes?

Yes please
Is there a way to see how you do (screenshot or whatever) in order to learn a bit also?

Here is 7i96s firmware that adds a stepgen index pin for all stepgens
Note that these have been added to the P1 expansion connector
so can only be used with TTL/5V level index signals. It's also advisable
to add a say 220 Ohm series resistor to each input if interfacing
machine I/O to the P1 FPGA expansion port to protect against negative
input spikes.

Thanks a lot I will first check what you modified in order to understand and confirm no other impact on my setup and then flash the firmware

Thank you again.
I struggle with the configuration
If I understand well I need to adapt this line in my Hal file but can't figure what should I put?
net xindex-enable axis.0.index-enable <=> hm2_7i96s ???
I connected my index on i/o 36 (P1)
Thank you for your help
