Spindle orientation, M19 questions.

Hello folks.
I use in my milling machine a asynchronous motor with a frequency inverter to drive a spindle, now i want to orient it to change tool through a automatic tool changer.
I will use classic ladder to control it. I would like to use a M19 with classic ladder to do that. I would like some samples how to link a M19 with classic ladder?

Nope, is a siemens frequency inverter, w3.siemens.com/mcms/mc-drives/en/low-vol...s/sinamics-g110.aspx
I will try use the inverter CC brake, with a indutive sensor position.

I'm thinking do this way:
Start M19
Ladder set a multspeed in the inversor through digital output 5Hz.
When the sensor position go true set a ladder output to turn on the brake CC.
Then the motor stops.

I need connect the m19 to the classic ladder to start the process.
Do you believe is possible, it works?

The orient spindle has several pins that can be connected in your hal file. You will need an encoder on the spindle IIRC.

But that inverter doesn't works in closed loop. It can't control position.
I just want a signal from m19 conected to classic ladder, the control i will be make by ladder logic.
Maybe motion.spindle-orient.

It is probably possible to persuade it to. It is just that the loop will be closed in LinuxCNC not in the drive.

You say control position throught emc, encoder and pwm output speed reference?

It will work, I have done it. How _well_ it works will depend on gear ratio and the nature of the inverter.
I have an example in Youtube, but that was geared 2:1 and with a very old-tech inverter that won't even try below 10Hz, so the results are not very impressive.

The gear in my machine is practically 1x1. Did you use ladder logic to control it?
