I am looking at a future project of retrofitting an older cnc mill...The machine is a CNCExpress mill, serial number 00012...The mill comes out of an aviation tech school and was one of three identical machines...The mill shows only little wear/usage...There are no controllers and drivers...I can't imagine where they went...
Details: Spindle Motor is a Marathon Electric; 115/230V single phase 2HP; 1725 RPM, Model No. 7VA56B17F5548B P; FLA 18.8/9.4...
X and Y axes motors are MicroKinetics 34M470; 470 oz/in; 2.5v 5.9A; 42 Ohm...
I am looking for guidance and suggestions selecting appropriate a Mesa electronics package and suggestions for size and types of drivers...
The spindle motor works but I am uncertain about the MicroKinetics motors, so I may need to replace them...
Any input will be appreciated...
Thanks in advance.
Mike

Those look like stepper motors so there is a wide choice of drives, from Chinese to Lam Technologies that i use very often as they have proven indestructible and configurable for almost anything.
As for mesa, there is the 7i96 or 7i76E or even a combo of 5i25 or 6i25 with 7i76.
