Hello! I'm currently using a mesa 7i76e on my will be CNC milling machine. As of now, I'm trying to wire the router so that I can turn it on and off from linuxcnc. The router I'm using is very basic, (on/off) I don't think I get to choose the RPMs or anything else and as of now I'm not really looking to either. I wired it to 120V using a 24V contactor. I want to know if the mesa board spindle pins can out 24v to turn it on and what signal is the one I should link it to on hal. I think it should be spindle-enable or spindle-output but I might be wrong.

The Mesa spindle (ENA and DIR) outputs are only rated for 50 mA
so will not drive a large contactor. I would use a field output (good to 350 mA)
and make sure that there is a flyback diode across the contactor coil
Flyback diode cathode (band) to 7I76E output end of coil
