I bought 2kw servo motor long time back. like this one in the link

www.aliexpress.com/item/32868022627.html...in.36.18441802DpVtla

I want to use it as a spindle (no tapping )

Can someone direct me to where I find how to wire this creature?

I am using break-out-board, and BT-30 power head

Second question

Does this motor have sufficient axial bearing to mill directly without the power head?

Good day

Philip

I would never use a servo motor as a direct spindle unless it's designed to do so. What you show probably has standard grade electric motor bearings. A proper spindle has angular contact bearings designed to take axial and radial loads.
Also, it would be hard to control runout on anything mounted to the shaft for tool holding. I think pocket NC had something along those lines but I don't have experience with them. Always thought of that spindle to be a poor design. Probably fine if you're doing wax or hd foam models.

Need more detail.

Post a copy of the user manual please, as well as your BOB manual.  If you're using a Mesa card, please identify it and how you've connected your BOB.

Thanks
the break out board is just a simple db 25 like the one in the link
store.fut-electronics.com/products/5-axi...-mach3-parallel-port

The manual for the servo driver
machmotion.com/documentation/Drives%20-%...TSTA-User-Manual.pdf

for speed mode, I thought it will be as simple as vfd spindle, on/off and analog for speed control

Thanks for the reply

never knew such thing existed. Actually I asked in several forums including industrial arena, but unfortunately did not get such reply

will the spindle servo have enough torque at low speed? I may have to go low speed for facing toolpath (milling)
