Poor Phil has been sitting still for 6 years.
I dont know why its named phil.

Its a "training machine from back when.

Seems easy enough, the board has all the pins written on it, so wire a power supply, get an old PC with parallel port and install LinuxCNC from the downloads page, wire the Xclk and Xdir and the rest of Y and Z, test.

There are a lot of GUI's included with LinuxCNC, you can find them by starting it from the main menu in the config picker, most are under SIM folder and all those run without any hardware so you can run and test them as much as you like.

It's called "Phil" to rhyme with "Mill".
Maybe they also had a Dave the Lathe?

Where did you get it from? This has a vague feeling of hackspace humour.
