Deckel FP4A Retrofit
I just bought a used mill for 330 Euro and now the fun begins :)
I have planned to do a full EtherCAT Servo build, with the Bechhoff moduls or similar.

More will be posted soon when the unit is placed on the floor and cleaned. I have already stripped some of the guards, panels away to get more room for cleaning. Also the control unit and the "electrical cabinet" are removed.

Best regards and Happy New Year From Denmark.

Nice find and to damn cheap, you lucky b.... :)
Good luck with the retrofit, there are several similar machine logs here in case you did not see them, but i think all use Mesa controllers with normal servo drives, normal as in not EtherCAT. Some use the old existing drives, IIRC

Today i got Linuxcnc and a bunch of other software installed on a old IBM M78. With new upgrades "SSD harddrive + extra Ram".
I had some old electrical cabinets laying arround witch i got stripped down, for the reuse of the parts.

Today I finally got the Beckhoff Ek1100 running under linuxcnc with ethercat :):). It was a steep sloop to go on, but I finally got it . I had a lot of troubles with broken links and such under installation, so it ended up with like 15 reinstalls. and then, like a grenade hit the new image was uploaded and most of the things worked a lot smoother:)btw if any out there knows how to send commands from the ek1100 to the cx unit plz write some info:) or else it will just be controlled via outputs.. if its a lost course i am planning to run the cx unit as a normal plc instead. it will run transmission/gears and spindle, lights and such.
Have a nice day all :)

The cx9010 is normally set up an Ethercat master. Linuxcnc uses  a different Ethercat master (and a whole lot more) too.
It would only be useful if you could install Debian and Linuxcnc on it, it could be used but I suspect that will not be possible due to lack of resources

Ok thx :) then i will just run it as a "normal" plc with I/O outputs from the ek1100 to control the transmission :) thx

Got the safety circuit ready today with e-stop and reset, it sends the a ready signal to the Ek1100.

The green and blue push bottoms are a latching start circuit that drives a relay, it shorts the power bottom on the pc and gives power to the Ek1100.

:) have a nice day all
