Any way of knowing if this is okay to use? was created by Zahnrad Kopf
Can pick up a V626EMP800-OC motherboard with a VIA chipsets (VT 8623/ VT 8235) and a VIA C3 EBGA 800MHz processor with 256Mb memory installed for stupid money ( $15 USD ), but want to make sure it will work for my turning center box. I've searched but did not find anything on this forum. Any help? Thanks.

Hi
Is this what you are looking at?
milwaukee.craigslist.org/sys/3920674630.html
It is low powered, 800 Mhz is slower than my phone.
I had a P3 of similar power in my loft as a spare, but threw it away, it was just too frustrating to use.
256MB is not enough RAM, it will be swapping out all the time making it even slower.
You can run on 512MB but 1GB is better.
Another 256MB stick of RAM is liable to cost at least £10, the old stuff is more expensive than new, because it is not made any more and becoming scarcer.
You could buy a 3.0GHz P4 desktop with 512MB, 80GB HDD and DVD-ROM for £36
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fujitsu-Siemens-Sceni...&hash=item5d41113113
Probably could find cheaper if looked hard.
So my advice, don't, you will regret it.
regards

It might be. I don't know. But I would bet that it is the same.
The offer was made to me in person, during a discussion.
I'll have to ask if that is his listing, but given the probabilities, I'd have to assume it is.
Good to know. Thanks.
To be quite honest, it caught my attention because it was described as Micro ATX
and I was thinking to save some real estate in the control box I am putting together.
But, after a little reading this morning, I'm finding that I really won't gain any space over what I have already...
Thank you.
