Advantech PCM-9577 and ubuntu 10.04 live cd was created by WRC_CNC
I have a few of these and would like to get linuxcnc to work on them,
I tried to install 10.04 and I get shared memory erorrs and it crashes.
Its got a 1.2 ghz P3 with 512 MB ram.
It does have onboard video and I was going to try installing a video board, Would that help?
Any other sugestions?
This is the computer:
buy.advantech.com/PCM-9577/PCM-9577/model-PCM-9577F-00A3E.htm
I see someone has made it work on a PCM-9588 (in know good PC's)
buy.advantech.com/PCM-9588F-S0A1E/PCM-95...-PCM-9588F-S0A1E.htm
allmost the same PC but a Celaron CPU
Thanks

Try the 8.04 LiveCD instead (you can still upgrade to the latest LinuxCNC after installing)
