SMI Rate - What Do You See?

Intel CPUs since at least Nehalem have an SMI counter MSR_SMI_COUNT at 34h . A few ways to have a look at this:

1. Intel BIOS Implementation Test Suite (BITS) SMI Latency Test
2. turbostat - recent versions include SMI column
3. rdmsr 0x34

Here's what I see on a Supermicro X10SAE C226 board with E3-1245v3 Haswell CPU:

1. 935 SMI during 15s test
2. SMI column is always 0
3. MSR 0x34 never changes

??? I don't understand why these methods give such different results ???

I'm curious what others see on other hardware... Please post your results!
