UPS setup question was created by Niko
Hello,
I have a UPS that I would like to setup . I want the pc to start when power is applied, and shut down propperly when power is removed . I have read this topic Monitoring a UPS with nut on Debian or Ubuntu Linux , but had no luck . I tried the second method . The driver acts weird but connects . The UPS is an inform GUARDIAN 1000A . Any ideas how I can set it up ?

Hi

Your first problem might be that according to the compatible UPS list for NUT, your UPS model either does not exist or is not supported
www.networkupstools.org/stable-hcl.html

It is not necessarily the end, just probably means they have never tested your model.

I have no personal knowledge, have toyed with the idea but not gone there yet.

This guide is rather verbose, but seems to cover everything

Hi ,
thank you for the quick reply . I know there is no dedicated driver for it but I hoped to run it reasonably well with another one . What I find weird is that the UPS is seen as Fry's Electronics . I still have to try the tutorial you posted .

I found this early shutdown .
I am still having issues with it but there is hope . nut monitor is immensely helpful
