@PCW Is better to put pullups to +3.3V that is the high logic of outputs?
5v from usb -> 3.3V regulator (ldo) -> pullups -> input pins
Just tried this patch with 5v & 2.2k pullups and works fine to asrock Q1900M pro3...

Hi Sir, about the Gigabyte GA-J1800N-D2H, at wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?Latency-Test Iread that before installing linux on this motherboard is necessary to update the bios, can you confirm that?,
also the corresponding latency are not been reported in the table, I would know what are the latency results you found please.
Thanks

I am adding a report to this old thread. I have been using the ASRock Q1900B-ITX motherboard successfully (including low latency) for LinuxCNC 2.7.12 stock distribution. The parallel port input signals do require pullups, which I use 1K resistors to +5VDC. The parallel port is provided from a Nuvoton NCT6776D I/O chip on the motherboard. The parallel port works with the hal_parport module, but I have not tested if the EPP mode works. This motherboard happens to be no longer in production, but later versions are. The "B" in the ASRock model indicates a built-in parallel port. Another feature is that this motherboard readily fits with a hard drive and power supply into a 1U relay rack chassis, and at 10 watts typical power needs no fans.
