Test Parallel Port with C1G Interface Card was created by jstoquica
Hi,
I will a retrofitting of a robotic arm, and the controller is going to be LinuxCNC.
I was testing the parallel port (LPT0 - 0x378), but with (wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?Parallel_Port_Tester) I can't test yet C1G - Parallel Port Interface Card.
Partport detects lp0:
irb6@irb6-desktop:~/Desktop/C1G Test$ dmesg | grep parport
[ 12.104336] parport_pc 00:08: reported by Plug and Play ACPI
[ 12.104393] parport0: PC-style at 0x378 (0x778), irq 7, using FIFO [PCSPP,TRISTATE,COMPAT,ECP]
[ 12.201024] lp0: using parport0 (interrupt-driven).
I appreciate a community helpful with this topic. Regards.

As far as I know the C1G is just a break up board, that protects the parallel port and have some relays included.
LinuxCNC will never see it as a "device". This means if you use the lp0 you will be using the C1G.
Note if the C1G have a charge up, you should disable it so that you can use the board outputs at a first test.

Good Day,
I can solve de issue. It was de DB25 cable, that board (C1G) needs 25 point to point cable.
Thanks.
