What is the best Linux CNC PC?

I am still having issues getting my latency down.

If you were to go buy a new machine right now what would it be?

Motherboard, processor, video card?

I keep seeing that the LCNC will only use one core of the processor, is there an "industrial" setup that is barebones fast for the process without the frills ?

It depends on whether you expect to do software step generation or not
almost any relatively current PC would be OK if its just running a 1 KHz servo thread

I don't think that that has been true for several years.

Anything put on the Wiki will tend to stay there indefinitely, even if it stopped being correct a long time ago.

I recently bought a Jetway JNF9C-2800 which seems to work OK for me, though does actually pop up the occasional real-time delay message, but I am using Mesa cards and servos so it isn't as critical as it might be otherwise.

I have a strong preference for motherboards that take a single 12V power input, and so if I was buying today I would probably look at:
www.mini-box.com/Jetway-JNF9HQL-525-Cedarview which is very low-profile and 12V power.
But, I stress, I know _nothing_ about how that machine performs in a latency test, so this isn't to be taken as a recommendation.
