Not sure if I'm in the right section
I had/have an old PC that turned out to have unusable latency (190000), so I dug up an I7 that I could use, but of course THAT PC didn't have a Parallel port, so of to Microcenter I went, home with a Moschip 9901 based card (yes, I'm using steppers, so I think I should be OK)

I installed the OS, but nothing from the parallel port - not shocked, I assume some sort of driver needs to be installed, but what/how?

I looked through the FAQ on the PCI Parallel ports (although this one is PCIe) and ran lspci -vv and got (after looking through the output)

03:00.2 Parallel controller: NetMos Technology PCIe 9912 Multi-I/O Controller (prog-if 03 [IEEE1284])
Subsystem: Device a000:2000
Control: I/O+ Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx-
Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- INTx-
Latency: 0, Cache Line Size: 4 bytes
Interrupt: pin C routed to IRQ 16
Region 0: I/O ports at ed00
Region 1: I/O ports at ec00
Region 2: Memory at fb9fb000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4K]
Region 5: Memory at fb9fa000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4K]
Capabilities: <access denied>
Kernel driver in use: parport_serial

I have NO idea where to go next to get this card running

Use stepconf wizard and on the fourth screen you have paraport base address, there just put a 0 (zero) and move on to configuring your machine. Even if you can not test the motors during that, finish and save it, open stepconf again, and on the second screen chose an already made config, browse to it, open and move on to testing the motors and seting the ratios and measurements. That is it.

OK, I'll give it a try, as first time thru, it wouldn't test

Did what TommyLight suggested worked perfectly. Why I expected it to work first time thru...
