so i have one of these chinese NUC htings with a J1900, similar to this: www.ebay.com/itm/162546020408
And run the latest version of www.linuxcnc.org/testing-stretch-rtpreempt/
And get this times initially
and after 4 hours of glx gears.
Nowto just get this effing 7i76E card working..

Right u used a Gigabyte nuc one.. This is a cheap chinese one with 8Gbs of ram but still, good numbers. that max jitter is maybe so so, but if using a mesa card i think it will be fine on a plasma machine. =)

I do find it go up to about 190.000 or so if i fiddle with say display sizes and turning on and off power settings for some reason..

In general all power management needs to be disabled in the BIOS setup for decent real time performance.
That includes clock speed switching, C states above C1, AMD Cool and Quiet mode etc etc

So i turned of ACPI and some of the other power saving features.. jitter went up to 72.000

I think you still have a useable machine for a Mesa ethernet card. It would be interesting to try Chrome instead of firefox.

Your suspicion were right, with Google Chrome max jitter never went over 58.000, but with Chromium the free version it went above 200.000 and firefox about 105.000. =)
