I start with a fresh linuxcnc-2.7-wheezy.iso installation.

than install USB utilities.

You might have more luck with this question on more generically Linux forums.
(we know a lot about LinuxCNC here, but we are not, in the main, computer experts).

Though it might be a bad sign that this thread comes 5th in Google when searching for VT168 Linux

Wheezy is a pretty old OS now. I'm not saying its going to fix it but I found that hardware that did not work with Wheezy just worked on Linux Mint without installing anything. Maybe try the stretch ISO install

Hello,
i testet the Monitor on an old Laptop witch Linux Lite and every think works fine with a good touch feeling out of the box.

now i download this *.iso.
linuxcnc-stretch-uspace-i386.iso

this need a bit time, but it is possible to boot a live system from USB to test the Touchscreen?

I'm struggling to get a touchscreen to function with linuxcnc also. It's an elo touchscreen EL1519l, I'm runing Debian Wheezy.

if i run lsusb from terminal I can see the device listed device003 elo TouchSystems

it doesn't show in xinput though.

the_muck what was your solution in the end? did you install the mint distro, was that what got you up and running?

Cheers,

Steve
