Cheap system option was created by Dave3891
I just received a BeeLink M1 mini PC ($189) from amazon to use for a lathe setup (a.co/d/fjBQlza )
And so far it looks like it has good latency test results so I figured I would post it here.
I installed Debian 9.5 and then switched to the RT-Preempt kernel
The plan is to use it with a MESA 7I93 Ethernet card

You could get a usb one, but it has wifi already so you use ethernet for the MESA and wifi for file transfer/etc
