Hi folks,
I am willing to buy Gigabyte G41 motherboard for Linux 2,7 wheezy,×64 bit architecture and E8400 core 2 duo 3Ghz 6m processor.
2Gb ddr3 ram and on board vga.

Can i work with linux cnc with lathe?
Can i get lower than 15000ns latency value and jitter value which i have no idea about it yet!

Bonus question?
Is motherboard cause problems with latency test?;i
If ram and processer is enough for give good latency value will motherboard eat latency value?
#realtime lover po rever (for ever)

Thank you

hi the RAM is very low 4GB recomended for 64bit
no matter the latency is only relevant if you plan on softwarestepping PARPORT
if you go ETH it is ""non"" Factor even if it is abaut 200k

if you do like MOST know go for a MESA there are almost every system on hardware stepping
and it can also BRIDGE from ETH to parport with multiple cards
meaning upgrade your parport system by just hooking up a 7i92
that gives hardware stepping to a parport
improving from 50k steps per second to nearly 180k no one needs but can be done

It's hard to say for sure unless someone has used the exact same motherboard, but it ought to work.

Does it have an onboard Paralell port, if that is what you intend to use?
