Is this a decent PC to use with LinuxCNC and Mesa?

I think that some folk have used the NUC successfully.
I tend to use a bare Mini-ITX motherboard in the same box as the other boards, treating it as just one more component. There are many boards available now that take 12V DC input, and some that will work from 24V too . (Note: I have not tried that specific board, I am running a JNF9C-2800 in my lathe)
I also have a Beelink BT3 Mini-PC (like a NUC, but cheaper) which appears to work happily with a Mesa ethernet board.

That's the one. But bear in mind I only bought it as it was the cheapest Intel PC on Amazon that day, with UEFI, and I wanted it purely to test the LinuxCNC ISO. (it was on special offer at £85 that day).
But, it is rather a nice little package.

Thank you Andy. I know you don't generally give any recommendations and I am not treating it as one.
But I might just give one a try.

What version of linux and Lcnc are you using?
I tried the standard install, but it hung on network configuration.
I tried mint 20, but I lost wifi after RT kernel, and it crashes frequently
