Hi,
does anyone has an experience with anything like this? PC
Or do you have a better alternative?
I would like to place it directly into control box and need it to be reliable.
Thanks
Jirka

I have a similar box with an Atom running pfSense, despite the same casing and running in free air it gets really really hot, the outer casing is above warm to touch.
I'm running Linxcnc on an Odroid H2+ that I made a custom ISO for with the needed NIC drivers. Unfortunately they seem to be in short supply ATM.
Some users have used various Intel NUCs with some success.

If you are putting the PC in the control box, just use a bare mini-itx motherboard. For simplicity choose a motherboard with 12V or 24V input, so suit what you have in the control box.

I run a ASROCK QM77 mini ITX on one of my machines. Its a solid board. I like the fact It runs off 24v so there's no need to run AC into my box but like Beagle said it gets warm. Make sure you can move air through and don't cheap out on the power supply. Get a good one because the cheapo will give you fits......
