There's little change to trace the circuit without removal of the RT1052 from the board. I've got some solder balls, kapton tape and some SMD clips and super fine probes on the way.

I was hoping that the EC300 would be a similar board layout to the NVEM 2.1. They are similar but MX_Master we'll need to rely on you for the pinout for the NVEM 2.1 !

These NXP chips will be a learning curve for sure. I purchased a clone J-Link OB from Aliexpress and should have read the details. I successfully connected to the RT1052 with the debug probe seeing the Cortex core, but the J-Link OB v7 does not support the Cortex-M7 :-(

I'm now on the search for an affordable solution to program and debug. Maybe a CMSIS-DAP might be the solution. Anyone with a good suggestion would be appreciated. More time waiting for things to arrive....

Looks like I'm going to have a forced break from all Remora development... I had a brain wave to use the J-Link OB to convert my one and only ST-Link V2 to a CMSIS-DAP debugger. The conversion worked, but can I figure out how to use it with the iMX RT1052, well not so straight forward :-(

Not to worry, I can get back to the SKR3 dev work right. I managed to connect my "new" CMSIS-DAP to the STM32H743 with openOCD. Great. But STMCubeIDE cannot use a stand alone openOCD. Only an ST-Link running through openOCD. So no go for the SKR3 work until another ST-Link V2 arrives...

Anyone with pointers / ideas how we can use a CMSIS-DAP with the RT1052 please shout out!

I just received 4 ST-Links in the mail, be happy to send you a couple.

I think we can use two possible options using st-links (or other STM32 boards). First - use DAPLink firmware (github.com/armmbed/DAPLink). Second - use J-Link firmware. I found a couple of useful tips on the electronix.ru forum and will try them when new NVEM will arrive.

I'll forward Russell your email so he can get in touch with you Scott.

On a side note, I was talking with an electronics engineer yesterday who worked quite a lot with the STM32 (11,000 units a year). He was saying that there is already over a 7 to 17 month back order on these chips depending on order size and it's getting worse. He and a lot of other people have been moving to other stuff that's more readily available.

Thanks! Yes, the chip shortage is impacting everywhere. In my day job we're in hypercare to ensure we get components and equipment in 2023 and 2024. Crazy times.
