Hello,
New to LinuxCNC...
I was looking into the Remora firmware for the SKR 1.4 Turbo board, for use with a CNC with NEMA 23 steppers.
All I could find is firmware that supported the TMC2209 drivers.
I removed all those driver modules from the board, and then interfaced the SKR board to NEMA 23 steppers using DM556
external stepper drivers. This worked well with the Marlin firmware.
My question is: has anyone interfaced this board using Remora, to external stepper drivers?
I do not know enough about Remora or LinuxCNC to ask a good question...

Yes the LPC17xx boards were some of the first to work with Remora. The STM32's are faster and have more features but are harder to come by currently, but they are available on other version of the SKR's and in the NVEM module.

Hey, thanks for checking it out.
I think I see the source of the confusion. It might say it in the docs, Im not sure, but it looks like the skr1.3 and 1.4 use the same config file
github.com/scottalford75/Remora/blob/mai...es/SKRv13/config.txt
Quick rundown on remora, the firmware supports all applicable features for the board, and you configure the board with the config file.
Check out the section on the config file, that should explain it a bit better.

Hi GlenB
Seeing a question raised about Remora's external motor driver, I had previously tried the idea of connecting directly from SKR1.4 to DM542, later because they have either optical or mosfet isolation and signal level switching.
After that I tried accessories like below and it solved the problem. But he is the control method for A4988.
I hope I can help you

or maybe
