Hi!
Has anyone tested this CPU (Intel N100)? I want to buy Asus PRIME N100I-D D4-CSM or ASRock N100DC-ITX
Can you tell me if these are suitable boards?

I've got one, did a quick test a few months ago but did not get good results at that time. When I see time I'll test more. There are many BIOS options like different values for the turbo but didn't see the options I was looking for.
Perhaps it will perform better with the current kernel since it's a relatively new board.

With the newer kernel/patch it works already much better, a few outliers but the only thing I've tried so far is isolcpus=3

How exactly do you update the kernel?

You can build your own kernel if you want.
Not the easiest task in the world.
You download the kernel source & the appropriate RT patch.
Extract the kernel source
Apply the patch
configure the kernel (this is where the real magic happens)
run make -j "$(nproc)" bindeb-pkg
then install the packages
The easier way:
Or if someone has built an updated kernel and provided deb packages you maybe able to install them.

This kernel has some AMD related stuff disabled, so only use with Intel.

To compile your own is not that difficult, just download the source from GitHub, Download the matching patch from:
mirrors.edge.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/projects/rt/
Apply the patch:
gzip -cd ../Downloads/patch-6.7-rc3-rt3.patch.gz | patch -p1
make menuconfig - be sure it's set to full realtime and exit/save
make -j "$(nproc)"
sudo make modules_install
sudo make install
Or like Cornholio said, make packages and install the headers, then the image:
make -j "$(nproc)" bindeb-pkg
