Also set your mesa link up as per:
man hm2_eth
NO gateway...

Apparently i have deleted a step last time i cleaned that howto!

Sorry for this, fixing it now.
Adding:
This is locate don the IPv4 tab of the network manager.
-click on "routes"
-click on "use this connection for resources on its network"
-
This prevents the network card assigned to Mesa from trying to access anything except the local network.
