NOT my content, just bumped into it, did a quick scroll through and seems pretty nicely done

Go give him some likes if you find it useful.

I was hoping he would have shown a twisted pair in comparison, oh well. I usually do twisted pair wires more to
keep things tidy, though shielded cable is best.
Something to note if a cable is to be continuously flexed a braided shield is better suited for things like drag chain
cable carriers at least in the long run and industrial settings where the machine maybe operating 24/7 365 for
years on end.
Still it was a good video showing the scenario.

Even better, get drag chain rated cable. Thats what I have used for the last couple of projects and its not very expensive. The 4 core stuff I use has a plastic sheath around the wires, then the braided shield and then an outer plastic sheath, It was called ÖLFLEX CLASSIC 400 CP and like everything of quality in Australia, I had to wait for it to arrive from Germany

Most of the hobby machine-builder (*myselfincluded) hardly put effort in selecting the correct wiring for the job!! /lazy. And a lot of us can't differentiate between power-vs-signal wire, mΩ/m a.k.a. voltage drop, let alone using the correct gauge-vs-freq if they do. Shielding and wiring arrangement requirements comes last, imho.

Great vid regardless. Watched it all, relaxing! I like the guy and will bookmark his website/store.

I know for me I didn't use to care about shielding until things started acting up like missed steps, steps in the wrong directions, and or
false triggers, And yes price and availability played a large roll in that. Funny how price starts taking a back seat to scrapped parts.
LOL

I am not dissing Austrailia. But it is surprising they don't do more manufacturing there. Their's certainly plenty of land for it.
That said I have never left the east coast of the United States so take my statement worth a grain of salt.

Yes, its sad, We used to manufacture everything but sucumbed to China. But we are barely 10% of your size. Parts I used to manufacture I get made in China or India because I could not reliably source raw  material. One part I needed 50mm lengths of Silicone hose and when I asked if the manufacturer could cut to length they said no, my choice was 1 metre or six inches (they imported ex USA), Consequently the cost was about $17 a piece. But the cost in China when I went to a trade show there was $2.60 and nothing was a problem. In fact the same supplier is currently making a sample batch of 50 custom intercooler hoses with OEM fittings each end...

I am curious if they ( Government ) use the same rhetoric of they need to get away from imports, add tariffs for said imports while simultaneously
importing more products. At least that is how it seems here in the states.

Our government thought we needed a level playing field so tarrifs are typically 5%. But we have FTA's (Free trade agreements) with a lot of countries including USA, UK, China and India where the tarrifs are waived. Typically though these need a certificate of origin (COO) stating  its made in our partner country. Generally, these are issued by the government for a fee. Sometimes its just as easy to pay the tarrif instead of pay the fee which also saves time.

Oh and we still have a luxury car tax to protect our local car industry which shut down totally a few years ago.
