M8 - usually 16 pin LPT, but you can use any pin you want

Hi
In you .hal file connect
net coolant-flood <= iocontrol.0.coolant-flood => parport.N.pin-nn-out
Where N is parport number and nn is the pin number of an on-board (BOB) relay or the parport pin number to activate an external relay for coolant.
M8 and M9 will trigger on / off
regards

Hi there
I tried the hint written by ArcEye (thanks man) and I can turn on my Laser-Cutter with M8 now... and M9 will disable it.
Which command do I need to add to my .hal file in order to make it M7 instead of M8?
I would like to fire the Laser with M7 and cooling air with M8... and switch of both with M9
Hope someone can help and give me an example!
Thank you so much!
Best regards!
Thomas

That is an old thread
Just substitute mist for flood, M7 is mist, M8 is flood.
Does not matter which one you use, what matters is what it is connected to

Hi ArcEye,
thank you very much for your answer - that has helped me already!
And YES! .. it is a very old thread.... but sometimes it makes so much sense to try the search functionality first before asking dumb questions in a shiny new thread!
Cheers!
