Numbered Parameters persistence : How many ??? was created by bigalex
Hi people.
I am trying to understand how many Numbered Parameters are/can be persistent.
As I red here only a restricted number of them
are persistent as per declaration of this :
In case I need to store values to be used into a parametric ngc file .

So I would like to know if it is possible to extend the range or have a selectable range from i.e. 0031 to 5000 and from 5161 to 5390.The range of persistent parameters may change as development progresses. This range is currently 5161- 5390. It is defined in the _required_parameters array in file the src/emc/rs274ngc/interp_array.cc .
In case I need to store values to be used into a parametric ngc file .

If you add entries to your var file, the added variable numbers become persistent. Be careful to match the existing format.

Great !
I remember I red already something like your indication into another post but I didn't find it with the search function.
This is an important feature and I think should be mentioned into the official documentation or into the wiki.
An "how to" example , with all the warnings about it , will be useful.
Thank you so much.

Hi John.
Yes ..... you are right..
I'm not feeling so "expert" on LinuxCNC to do it.
I mean , a wiki contribute should be validated by somebody (like you) with the proper knowledge .
I'm reading the last manuals (doc) on LinuxCNC and I have to say "well done" .
Really a very good documentation not so usual to have .
So I would like to thank all the people involved into this "professional" documentation.
