Hello everyone,

reading through the topics and looking for a tool-path software that can generate GCode for CNC machine running under LinuxCNC, I found not that much still running under Linux. However, lots of good impressions users are talking about Vectric Cut2D application. Furthermore, you can open there dxf, eps files generated by QCad or inkscape like software, choose the appropriate tool, and set the tool-path. Having finished all, I am not quite sure which GCode format shall I save to run in LinuxCNC controller (.txt, .cnc, .tap) because there is no possibility to save generated Code in .ngc.

Any advise.

Thank you!

the filename prefix can be set in your ini file to NGC TAP or whatever you wish it is only a text file
so long as in cut2d you use the ( linuxcnc or emc) postprocessor it will work fine ..
the post processor can be made to output any prefix filename

if you do not have a postprocessor for linuxcnc in your cut2d , their is one on the wiki page already set up

I have no reason to believe their is anything wrong with the postprocessors on vectric forum .
postprocessors can be modified to suit individual needs and requirements .

I certainly have not had any problems, and not had any feedback as to any problems with the postprocessors I posted
