G93 vs G94 was created by subnoize
Hello Everyone!
Forgive me, I've been out of the loop for a while. I turned to 3D printing for a while but I need to get back cutting metal again.
The maker of my CAM software promised he would implement G93 (inverse timing) and now 3 years have passed and no G93. If I remember correctly LinuxCNC wants the mode to be G93 for using angular axis with linear axis motion.
Is this still correct? Am I still begging access from my friends with AutoCAD to produce my G93 compatible code for my homemade 4 axis machine?
Thanks for the help, sorry for the stupid questions...

Yes we have G93, G94, and G95. When combining linear and rotary axis move G93 is preferred.

Thanks for the info. Just a real quick follow up and you seem to be the guy leading the charge here, what is a good affordable 4 axis CAM package? I hate having expensive equipment not being used.

We are all volunteers here, I just try and help where I can.
Seems like "good", "affordable", and "CAM" don't fit in the same sentence. For my business I use SolidWorks and OneCNC. OneCNC is a bit clunky but my version is a few years old. I refused to upgrade when I found out some of my pet peeves were not fixed. Also note that I'm only using the 3 axis version of OneCNC so I don't really feel qualified to answer the question.

Fusion360 has 3+2 Axis. I can't work out how to find the pricing for the 3+2, though.
It's a free download (Windows and Mac only). Might be worth a look.

Hmmm! Let me investigate Fusion360. I use it a lot for 3D printing, hadn't even looked at anything else. I use Rhino3D so I skip everything except squirting out g-code for my printer. If it were a snake it might have taken my head off!
