How to reset 5221, 5222 and 5223 parameters (G54)?

No, The X must have a number after it.
For example using this command to touch off the right side of the piece.
You would type G10L2P1X0, if you wanted that point to be 0 in your G54 work coordinate system.
If you were locating off a hole 1" from where you want the edge to be you could enter G10L2P1X1.

OK, but I still do not understand what the difference is between L2 and L20. However it does not matter, I use L20 and I think it does its job.

Let's say that your machine is located at the machine coordinate position (G53) X5.32 Y3.45 Z-2.34 and the G54 system is active. Issuing G10L20P1X0Y0Z0 will make the DRO show X0 Y0 Z0 at that point. Issuing G10L2P1X0Y0Z0 will make the DRO show X5.32 Y3.45 Z-2.34 .

Interesting. I still have to understand how DRO works without encoders but this is another matter. :laugh:

The DRO works pretty much the same without encoders as they do with, so long as the stepmotors don't loose position.
