g10 l20 p1 x y z and g10 l20 p2 x y z interaction ? was created by dansawyer
The project to to mill patterns in 4 corners on a part. My display shows G54, TLO, DTG, and G92. I have used G92 to set the offset to the part origin, this is working. I then moved to the start of corner 1 on the part and set G54.
g10 l20 p1 x0 y0 This all worked.
I then moved to the start of the first pattern and executed:
g10 l20 p2 x0 y0 The expectation was this would create a second offset, however this did not work. It is not obvious anything happened.
Am I thinking about this all wrong? Is there a way to create sub, local offset based on G54?
Help shows the Linuxcnc version to be: Axis 2.8.0. Does this version not support G55, G56, etc?

You have loaded an offset into G55, bit you have not switched to using that offset.
If you were to execute a G55 command you would see the numbers change.
You might well want to reset G92 before doing either.
