XYZC axes for horizontal mill with rotary table? was created by machete
Hello!
I have horizontal mill with 4 axes (XYZ + rotary table):
Now it is configured for XYZA axis, but geometry is wrong in AXIS window:
1. When i jog A axis the cone (tool) is moving around X axis, but in my mill is moving around Z axis. So i guess i must setup XYZC axes? (is C axis moving around Z?)
(if so, hope information from this topic will help me:
linuxcnc.org/hardy/dapper/index.php/foru...72&lang=french#19693)
2. Even if angular axis will move around Z axis, the cone shows tool will be vertical. How can i set it horizontal (going out of Y+)?

I think Your Z axis should be the spindle ram.
Z axis is always inline with the spindle axis.
X is the longest travel perpendicular to the spindle axis so your your knee up / down is X or Y.
