Camera and co-ordinates from Cross hair was created by abhishek276
Hello,
I I am able to open the camera tab. However, I would like to know, how get the cross hair and then the co-ordinates of the point. I would be attaching the camera just above the PCB drill and I would like the camera to give me the co-ordinates of a point I want to know. Kindly help. I followed the link : wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?Axis_Embed_Video but after modifying the files, my camera did not work. Please let me know the steps.
Thanks in advance

Hi
The wiki is a bit out of date.
If using Linuxcnc 2.5>, the dynamic_childs code is already in Axis
If you have it in .axisrc as well, it will throw an error and probably not even start
There is a long thread on this
www.linuxcnc.org/index.php/english/forum...other-tab-for-webcam
There is also psha's original wiki, which amongst other things makes clear that crosshairs and DRO do not work with 8.04
psha.org.ru/b/camview-emc.html
If you still are unable to resolve, you will have to come back with more info, Linuxcnc version, Ubuntu version, camera, exactly what error you get rather than ' my camera did not work' etc.
regards

Hi. Thanks for your reply.
The details are:
Linux CNC 2.5.2
Ubuntu 10.04
Camera - Hercules webcam
I am getting the camera tab opened when I use
EMBED_TAB_NAME = Camera
EMBED_TAB_COMMAND = camview-emc -w {XID}
but there are no x,y,z co-ordinates displayed. I have attached the screenshot of the Axis camera window.
Thanks again.
