Greetings,

Within the Axis program are two radio buttons to start/stop the spindle manually and control fwd/rev. These buttons are no longer active on my screen. You can pick them and they toggle; but, no spindle movement.

I can operate the spindle via MDI commands.

Cheers,

Dave

Did you press the + key after selecting a direction? Default is 1 rpm which usually means it won't turn.

It always helps to tell us what version of LinuxCNC your running...

Greetings John,

Sorry for the omission. LinuxCNC 2.5.4.

Yes, the RPM indicator at the upper right toggles to "1" by pressing either + or -. Repeated pressing does not increase the RPM values nor does the spindle turn on.

With kind regards,

David

In Axis open Show Hal Configuration and select the watch window tab then drill down the pins list to motion.spindle-speed-out and add that to the watch window. Press CW and it should read 1, for each press of + it should increase by 100. I'm assuming that works, as I have a lathe with 2.5.4 and it functions.

I assume your drive is not getting the speed signal, how did you configure your spindle?

Greetings John,

I did as you suggested and all appears to be working well now.

It seems I was clicking the forward button to death and not using the plus and minus keys just below.

I think it is time to start buying a better grade of wine when working with the machine. (Joking, of course)

Cheers,

Dave
