AXIS workspace moving. was created by toplakd
Hi.
I'm using LinuxCNC for 5 yeas now, and with recent upgrade to 2.7 I noticed some problems for which I can not find a solution.
1st problem:
After milling one part, I make the touch-off on X axis (Set X to say 200mm)) and instead of moving the part to the new position the axis
moves the complete workspace.
So if I Jog back to home position, the home position is in 200mm -X direction as the complete workspace is moved for 200mm.
Unhoming and rehoming does not help. As if I make new homing, the home location stays the same, outside of the workspace.
The only thing that works is to quit Axis and restart it. Then the homing works correctly again and the position of home
is inside the workspace as it should be - until first part is milled
I'm Using CamBam eversince, and Didn't have any problems with older versions.
Before upgrading to 2.7 I have used 2.6.5 Version.
Upgrade was made as fresh install
2nd problem:
Don't know if it's a bug or new feauture.
Feed override doesn't affect jog speed anymore. On previous versions I could set the speed to 30% and
I could jog at 30% of jogging speed. Now the jog speed can be adjusted only by slider.
Thank you very much, Dejan

Have you noticed that there are now two separate touch-off buttons? Is this possibly the problem? After milling one part, I make the touch-off on X axis (Set X to say 200mm)) and instead of moving the part to the new position the axis
moves the complete workspace.
This is a feature. "Feed" override is now for adjusting feed only, so you can change the machining parameters without affecting rapid speed.Don't know if it's a bug or new feauture.

Hi.
1.
I have noticed that.
And as I'm idiot in a rush, I didnt push push the correct one
Is it possible to color that second touch button in other color somewhere in settings.
2. Now that's cool feauture as I have always missed this.
Now I just have to figure something out for quick adjust manual jogging.
Thank you, Dejan

Something more convenient.
Before new feauture I could do it with numbers and feed percentage affected the manual jogging.
Will have figure out some other way of quick selection of desired jog speed.
Back to the point 1.
Is it possible to disable the Tool Touch Off button?

If you want to, I think it is.
But I am one of those who have been campaigning for a separate tool button for years, because I keep touching-off the way I didn't mean to in the existing current button, so I am wondering why you want to?
You can probably unlink the button in a .axisrc file. Working out how to do it will take a bit of Python knowledge, and mine is limited.

I do manualy change the tools in the spindle, so they are always in same X and Y positions.
Will have to try what the new touch button does for touching the Z axis.
If it would be possible to color it different than I don't need it to be disabled.
Ok, with little more care I would learn to not click the wrong button as I did
couple of times and than couldn't figure what is wrong
Regarding the quick jog speed selection I will try to mock up something on
my side Pyvcp panel.
Buttons that are calling subroutines were not that hard, but I think that
this will be harder.
Will see how it goes.
Maybe someone has some examples how to start.
I hope I will be able to do something with radiobuttons that sets the speed to presetted value.
