getting the correct tool to show in the display window? was created by jamby
Maybe someone can help me out with this
When running a linuxcnc axis remotely a m6 t3 will cause the tool shown in the display window to change to the shape of the tool with that tool number in the tool library.
But when running my own interface in linuxcnc at the machine tool. A t3m6 will not execute and so the image of the tool in the display remains the cone. The t3m6 command has to be killed by hitting the stop button.
Adding the line: "HALFILE = axis_manualtoolchange.hal" to my ini files [HAL] section caused linuxcnc to fail to start with a displayed message showing that it quit immediately after reading that line.
The machine is a bridgeport clone with no tool changer and no spindle control. Tools are hand loaded into a router head with a collet and the spindle is manually started.
So my question is how can I get a tool from my tool table to be displayed while running my machine code?
Thanks
Jim
The attachments are my ini and hal files.
