DC motor instead stepper motor for axle control was created by Rodorojas105
Hi everyone, I'm glad to be here.
I am designing a basic CNC for PCB prototyping using linuxcnc. X and Y axis are now clear will be stepper motor controlled. But the axis controlling the spindle up and down I want to be controlled by a DC-geared motor. so the question is: Is linuxcnc able to configure and control this type of motor?. I am starting to browse the documentation, but also want to gain some time, purchasing early in ebay, this is why I getting close to the forum.
Best regards

Sort of. Will you have some form of position feedback so that Linuxcnc can have some idea of where the axis is?
If you have an encoder or linear scale of some sort on the Z axis, then it becomes a servo and Linuxcnc can do that.
