Hi linuxcnc
I engraving a pcb with my cnc3040. To do it i uses 10° tungsten-carbide bit, diameter 0,1mm.
Spindle turn at 15000 rpm and advance are 120 mm/min.
I use autoleveler for probing Z axis, but Z axis are never in good distance.
To have a nice Z axis distance i must do it :
- Pause axis program
- Stop electric-power of XYZ
- Adjust manually Z with manual screw (3 to 5 step)
- On electric power of XYZ
- Restart axis program.
It is possible to jogg Z-axis during execution ?
Thank you.

Have a look at "external offsets", it should do what you want:

thank you for your reply
I look some videos ant this :
in this video I see "MPG SIMULATOR" window
But how can i setup that ?
It is reliable .. compatible with linuxcnc 2.7.15 ?
Thank in advance.

thank you so much
i want to
I'm searching a full sample configurations, because I don't understand the original documentation.
I am looking for a solution with a command line can be in a condole (bash) or a graphical interface like on the video I posted.
Thanks in advance.

Look, it's very simple and practical .. with a knob you can adjust the Z as you like while you work. just a panel encoder and these lines attached.
when I did this helped by Andy years ago there was no component that Tom said, but it works just fine.

Those lines need to be added to your hal file and others need to be edited. first of all we need to know what hardware you have and if there are two free inputs for an encoder.

Hello Billykid
My hardware is cnc3040 or cnc3040t (i don't know exactly)
I've buyed it in 2012, and contrôller is linked to a parrallel port (lpt)
To use autoleveller software i use pin13 of my lpt port (i think) and ofile:///home/fgh66/Bureau/zener5V6protect.png
ther pin exept pin used for 3 axis machine are free.
Spindle motor are www.amazon.fr/VEVOR-Refroidissement-Vite...1112892&sr=8-22&th=1
Tip : to protect your hardware you can add a zener diode with voltage 5V6.
Connect it to input pin ic, after resistor connected at input of ic and gnd.
Look at attachment.

I haven't used parallel for a long time, you'll have to see if you have two free inputs to connect the encoder.
