Image-to-Gcode: Roughing with different tool than Engraving possible ?

Is it possible to split the Image-to Gcode path into a roughing and engraving job, and then using different tools for the jobs ?
For roughing I would like to use a bigger tool and for engraving a V-Cut engraver.
If image-to-gcode cannot support this, is there another tool for picture-to-gcode converison which can support this (freeware/opensource) ?
I am using linuxcnc 2.8.1.

Back when i was using it, the image2gcode did not work for me, but dmap2gcode did.
It is free so give it a try.
